How to do Barbell Upright Row

The barbell upright row is a great exercise for building strength in your upper body, specifically targeting the muscles in your shoulders, back, and arms. Here's how to do it:


  • Begin in a standing position and hold the barbell with an overhand grip, palms facing down.


  • Raise the barbell up to your collarbone, keeping your elbows close to your sides.


  • Hold at the top for a brief moment, and then lower the barbell back to the starting position, Repeat for desired repetitions.


  • It's important to keep your back straight, chest up, and shoulders pulled back while performing the barbell upright row. Additionally, the motion should be slow and controlled to reduce the risk of injury.
